How To Get Involved

1

Volunteer Opportunities

At this time, we do not currently have an active need for volunteers.
Please check our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates on upcoming events or opportunities where additional support may be needed.

2

Host A Food Drive

You can make a big impact by organizing your own food drive!
Collect non-perishable food items through your school, workplace, community group, or neighbourhood and donate them to support local families in need.

3

Fundraising & Community Events

Get involved by hosting or participating in fundraising events that support the food bank.
We also welcome participation in community events across North Dufferin County that help raise awareness and support for food insecurity in our region.

Thank You to Our Volunteers!

We are proud to be supported by over 70 dedicated volunteers, past and present, who make the work of the Shelburne Food Bank possible. From sorting and distributing food to weekly food rescue, supporting our seniors markets, and helping behind the scenes, our volunteers show up week after week to support our community. Their time and commitment ensure that we can continue to provide reliable support to those who need it. As a currently fully volunteer-run organization, everything we do depends on the people who give their time so generously. To all of our volunteers, thank you. Your work does not go unnoticed, and it makes a real difference every day.

Take a moment to scroll through the photos below to see some of our volunteers in action.

  • Workplace or School Challenge: Organize a friendly competition to see who can collect the most donations.

  • Birthday or Holiday Giving Event: Ask for food or financial donations in place of gifts for your celebration.

  • Bake Sale or Coffee Morning: Sell homemade goods or host a small gathering, with proceeds going to the Food Bank

  • "Fill the Bin" Collection Drive: Set up a donation bin in your neighbourhood, workplace, or local business and encourage others to contribute.

  • Yard Sale or Community Sale: Host a sale and donate the proceeds to help support local families.
