The Shelburne Food Bank (formerly The Shepherd’s Cupboard Food Bank) has been serving North Dufferin County since 1991, supporting individuals and families in Shelburne, Melancthon, Mulmur, North Amaranth, and North Mono. Originally founded through the Shelburne Ministerial, the organization has grown into a community-supported food bank focused on providing accessible food support to those in need. Our mandate is to provide a 5-7 day emergency supply of food to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Since our beginnings, we have remained an important part of the community, adapting and expanding our services to meet local needs.

Our History
We are supported by more than 70 dedicated volunteers from North Dufferin County, along with a committed volunteer board that meets monthly. Volunteers play a vital role in all areas of operation, including serving clients, stocking shelves, collecting donations from local grocery store bins, and supporting food drives and community initiatives. "The Shelburne Food Bank" became incorporated in 2024 and has applied for charitable status, with approval anticipated in 2026. As a community-based organization, we continue to grow and evolve while staying focused on supporting the needs of residents across North Dufferin County.

Meeting A Growing Need
With the significant rise in population in Shelburne over the past few years, the demand for food support continues to grow in our community. We work each week to ensure individuals and families closest to us have access to essential food items when they need them most.

Powered By Volunteers
Our work is made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers who give their time to sort donations, prepare food and support daily operations. Their efforts are the heart of everything we do.
